Was a pitch deck course really necessary?

You bet.

In fact, it’s the first online course we rolled out. Why? Because despite dozens of videos and thousands of blog post lines written on the subject, startup founders still produce pitch decks that nobody understands. The worse part? They are not even aware of it. But they keep wondering why VCs don’t call back. We know, we are investors ourselves.

Don’t take our word for it. Here are six legendary VCs‘ point of view on pitch decks. In all our courses, we give it to you straight from the horse’s mouth: you can go further and read or watch the main actors of the VC world talk about the topic at hand.

what are this track's objectives?

Fix your deck to unlock your potential.

You’re here because you know the truth: copying the Airbnb pitch deck doesn’t get you a VC meeting. Hard work does. And having mentors who know what they are talking about. It works because you learn the background, and we show you how to put it into practice.

Get A VC Meeting

Let's not beat around the bush. You don't do pitch decks for fun but to get a meeting with VCs. It's the first step to potentially raise funds with them. We help you create a pitch deck that will get you through the door.

Refine Your Strategy

Pitch decks reveal the startup's growth strategy. Or the lack of one. That's why they are built in a certain way. This track will help you work on the pillars of your strategy. In the process, you will validate how VC-fundable your model is.

Prepare Future Negotiations

We tell you not only HOW to make pitch deck pages, but also WHY you should do things in a certain way. We bring you inside the VC's head. It will help you better understand them when they will seat on the other side of the table.

Understand Key Concepts

Venture capital, like most activities, has its jargon and postulates. They explain how VCs take investment decisions. We teach you critical concepts such as scalability, business models, and cash flows.

how is the course structured?

One week per pitch deck section.

We’ve analyzed dozens of successful startups’ pitch decks, as well as recommendations from top VCs worldwide. We then blended them with our own experiences as founders, investors and advisors. This track is what came out of it.

At the end of this track, you will have a complete pitch deck of approximately 10 pages. (Problem & Solution take two pages, and Market is usually divided in TAM-SAM-SOM and Competition.)

How do we do it?

a unique blend of self-learning & e-mentoring.

We are at the forefront of learning technologyAll our formats benefit from mentoring. Whether live or recorded, one-to-one, one-to-many or many-to-many, you will find a methodology that suits your needs.

How Long Does It Take?

Online courses take approximately two to three hours per week of self-study (for six weeks) + six weekly webinars (30 minutes each) + e-mentoring (30 minutes to 2 hours), depending on the plan you choose. That’s at least 20 hours in total, not counting the time you invest in perfecting your pitch deck, reading and replying to our written feedback, etc.

Email- and SMS-based plans take considerably less time, as there is fewer material covered.

No panic, the beauty of e-learning resides in the flexibility provided. You can work at any suitable time, and even on the go, as our platform is mobile-friendly. e-Mentoring sessions are planned in advance so you can work around your schedule accordingly.

how about confidentiality?

We understand the concern. Yet, most successful founders will tell you that you need to talk about your idea if you want feedback on it. Execution is what matters in this world, not the idea. That’s why VCs don’t sign Non-Disclosure Agreements.

Having other founders comment on your slides is a powerful booster to your learning curve. It’s a unique feature that only e-mentoring can provide at this scale. However, if you prefer to keep the slides confidential between us, we will do so.

In any case, we never share Financials & Transaction pitch deck pages with anyone. And don’t include potential competitors in the same webinars.

who is this course for?

anyone thinking about vc, really.

Don’t start too early, but don’t start too late, either. Although startup founders who are already raising money will benefit from this course, the best moment to start is a few months ahead of the roadshow. We will shatter many of your preconceived ideas about financial investors (business angels and venture capitalists), and most probably the way you think about your own company. So better plan enough time ahead to adjust course.

Startup Founders

Prepare or Perfect Your Deck
Ask yourself the hard questions before VCs do! Make sure you have what it takes to raise VC money. If you do, improve your chances of getting that meeting. Sending a great deck is not sufficient to get you through the door, but sending a poor one has 100% certainty of not landing you that meeting.

Junior VC's

Accelerate your career
The main task junior venture capitalists will initially work on is generate deal flow. “Junior” means new to the job, whether you joined VC after your studies or years of operational experience. Become proficient at screening pitch decks quicker to focus on the most promising ones. It will benefit your career.

Angel Investors

Make better decisions
Pitch decks reveal a startup’s strengths and flaws. Sure, they don’t tell it all, otherwise experienced VCs would never get it wrong (hint: they do, a lot.) But those who are proficient in applying a VC analysis grid on pitch decks are less likely to make rookie mistakes. Learn the methodology with this course.

You may have noticed...

The video is in French. (Subtitles are on their way!) That’s because our Founder is based in France, at least for now. It gives us at least three unfair advantages.

  • We Adapt content For All
We act as a bridge between US VCs and the rest of the world. We constantly "translate" content from the best investors anywhere in the world, but mostly from the United States of America. We don't translate literally from English to other languages (although that's in the cards, too); we contextualize the content for non-US learners, which leads to a better learning experience for all.
  • We reach learners all over the world
Being based in Europe positions us ideally for live events such as Live Streams, Technical Webinars and e-Mentoring with learners all over the world. Time zones are rarely an issue, unless you're based in the Far Pacific (mate).
  • We know how to teach efficiently, fast
France is not only known for its gourmet cuisine and luxury goods. It's the home of the "Prépa", an intensive two-year program designed to prepare students for competitive entrance exams to the best business & engineering schools. We took a few recipes from that book and integrated them in our syllabus.

Before you ask: all our videos are in English, and all of them have English subtitles, too. Besides, we show you videos from top US VCs – in English.

apparently it works!

70% of our visitors are based outside of France.

Two-thirds of these live in countries where English is the native language. Hover over the hot spots for precise percentages.

Which Format Has The Best Value For Money?

It's not about the money. It really isn't. It would be pointless to try and arbitrage each offer. What you need to do is focus on your needs. Go to the next box.

Which Format Is Best For Me?

Now that's the right question. It depends on both what kind of learner you are, and how much time you are ready to invest in this endeavor. Lucky for you, we created a Format Selector to help you decide. Just click here to fill out the Format Selector, and you will get the answer you are looking for!

What Does "Group" Mean In Online Courses?

Group plans are available for groups of 10 or more learners. These tracks start at fixed dates, every six weeks or so. We may decide to cancel a Group if there are not enough learners for a particular date. In that case, you will be offered a refund or the possibility to start at another date.

When Do These Courses Start?

Online Courses - Group plans start at fixed dates. You will be asked to choose a date before making payment. New Units are opened once a week, usually on Fridays. You need to complete a Unit to be able to do the next.

Online Courses - Individual plan starts when your payment is approved. You don't have to make the Units in any particular order. However, you will have to do the lessons of each Unit in order.

Email- and SMS-Learning plans start when your payment is approved. The weekly or daily messages, respectively, will be sent on the same day and time of that payment approval.

What Are Live Webinars?

Live Webinars follow the structure of this track. Every week, we will talk about the week's Unit (The Team, The Problem & Solution, The Market, etc. - see here for more information). They last 30 minutes, sometimes more - depending on how many questions learners have. We first cover the Unit's main takeaways. We then take a look, together, at pitch deck pages made by other learners. It's an excellent way to learn and get feedback. Webinars will be saved in your shared space on the platform.

What Does 'Written Feedback' Mean?

Every week, you will post a pitch deck page online. On the first week, you will post the Team page, then the Problem and Solution pages on the second week, and so on. Provided you post your page by the end of each week, we will give you feedback on these pages. It can take various forms: asking you to further clarify the message, or challenging you to find more information. Written feedback is a useful prelude to our e-mentoring sessions. Feedback is given on our platform, where you have a private space to write to us.

How Long Is Access To The Courses Valid?

Access to material on our platform used for both Online Courses and Email-Based Courses is valid for three months. The Track lasts 6 weeks, the extra time gives you more opportunity to go back to the videos and perfect your pitch deck. Needless to say, your TytchMe Academy account remains valid, which allows you to get prime access to new content and communicate with other learners on the platform.

I have more questions. How do I address them with you?

You are more than welcome to use the Chatbox on this page (see  icon on the bottom right of the page). Alternatively, you can send us an email using the Contact Form. We usually reply within 48 hours - sometimes much faster.

But wait. How can you offer such low prices?

let us tell you our secret.

First off, we have learners in all corners of the Globe, including areas where average pay is much lower than in Western Europe & North America. So we can’t charge too high a price because we want everyone to have access to these courses, too. Secondly, this track is what we hope the first one of many you will take with us. It’s the most pressing issue you need to fix as a fundraising entrepreneur. Finally, and perhaps more importantly, we are not trying to get rich here. Our goal is to make enough to keep producing high-quality content while living comfortably.

still not convinced?

try it out! it's just $1.

Fill out the form and we will send you the first email of our Email-Based Course. Then you can decide whether you want more or not.

You authorize us to use your email for the intended service. We may also send you our Newsletter from time to time, with great content on Startup Funding & Venture Capital. We don’t do the spam thing, never share your email, and you can unsubscribe whenever you want. Plus, it’s free. Sweet!

What is the detailed syllabus for each unit?

We got your covered.

Move the slider to get the detailed syllabus for each course. Note that we constantly add content to our courses – it’s the beauty of e-learning. All learners are sent an email when that happens, so they can keep learning. Click on Expand All to see all the Lessons for each Unit.

You may have noticed...

There are not six but eight units in this track. Under-promise, over-deliver.

  • Introduction
As the name aptly suggest, this Unit explains why pitch decks are necessary, and what you need to pay attention to. We also provide templates of famous startups' original pitch decks, which we will study in depth in the next Units. As well as templates from VC firms telling you how to structure your pitch deck. This is the Unit covered by your free trial (Email-Learning).
  • Best Practices
We naturally distill best practices in all Units, but this one has many more packed in, with practical examples. This unit is available based on merit: your quiz scores and interaction with our content (liking, sharing, and adding reviews) determine access. You don't have to actually like what we do, but knowing about it will help us improve.

Enjoy your learning experience!
